Privacy Policy
Last updated November 1, 2026
Bloop.email is a mail app for the Mac. It's built so that your mail stays between you and your mail provider. This policy explains what the app and this website do with your information.
The short version
- We don't run servers that store, read or relay your email.
- Your passwords and sign-ins are kept in your Mac's keychain, not on our side.
- We don't sell your data, show ads, or use analytics or tracking in the app.
Your email
Bloop.email connects directly from your Mac to your mail provider (for example Gmail, Outlook, iCloud or your own IMAP server) to download, send and organize your mail. Messages are stored on your Mac so you can read them offline. We never receive a copy of your email.
Passwords and sign-ins
App passwords you enter are stored in your Mac's keychain. For Microsoft accounts you sign in on Microsoft's own page; Bloop.email receives a sign-in token from Microsoft, keeps it in the keychain, and uses it only to connect to your mailbox. You can remove an account at any time, which deletes its stored credentials from your Mac.
Sender pictures
To show a picture next to each sender, the app may request a public icon from the sender's web domain, from DuckDuckGo's icon service, or from Gravatar (which receives a one-way hash of the sender's address, not the address itself). These requests never include the content of your email. You can turn sender pictures off in Settings.
Remote images and trackers
Images that load from the internet are hidden by default, because they're often used to tell a sender when you open a message. They only load when you choose to show them for a message.
Summaries and translation
Summaries use Apple Intelligence and translations use Apple's Translation framework. Both run on your Mac, under Apple's own privacy terms, and Bloop.email doesn't send your messages to any other service for them.
Licenses and updates
When you activate a license, the license key is sent to our licensing provider to check that it's valid. To check for updates, the app downloads a small file from bloop.email that lists the latest version.
This website
bloop.email is hosted on Vercel, which keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and reliability. The site doesn't use advertising trackers. To learn which pages help people decide, it counts page views and clicks (such as on Buy and Download) with PostHog. By default this runs in cookieless mode: nothing is stored on your device. If you accept the banner, PostHog also sets a cookie and records your visit (session replay) so we can see where the site is confusing; what you type is never recorded, and the license pages are left out. Declining keeps it cookieless. Either way, license keys and email addresses are removed before anything is sent. Vercel Web Analytics also counts page views, without cookies, and with the same details removed from each address.
Children
Bloop.email isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
