bloop.email

Changelog

New features and fixes in Bloop.email, newest first.

  1. Bloop.email 1.3.3

    • Suggested replies appear as you open an email. Pick one and the AI writes the whole reply right there; go back to choose another, or type your own and tell the AI what to say
    • Sending a reply flies it up into the conversation, and the reply box goes back to a single Reply button
    • Summaries are kept once written, so an email is never summarised twice; summarise only when you ask
    • Translate a whole conversation from the toolbar; emails already translated are kept and skipped
    • Emails open much faster, and pictures in emails you've opened before show at once
    • Emails that are only text are shown in dark mode instead of on a white card
    • Deleting, archiving or moving emails slides them out of the list, and going back to the list keeps your place
    • Spark's toolbar matches Wide List's, the header blurs the mail scrolling under it, and each conversation shows how many emails it has beside its subject
  2. A reply box that's always there, and Hungarian translation (1.3.2)

Answering an email no longer means scrolling to the end of it. The reply box now stays at the bottom of the conversation while you read. Click it and it grows open with the cursor ready; click away without writing anything and it tucks itself back.

Much of this release came from emails you sent us. Thank you, and keep them coming.

    • The reply box stays at the bottom of the conversation, so you can answer without scrolling to the end. It opens with the cursor ready, and closes again when you click away without writing anything
    • Replies are written at the same text size you read emails at (View → Bigger and Smaller)
    • Attach files to a reply: use the paperclip, or drop files anywhere on the reply box
    • Translate emails into your language with AI, including languages Apple's Translation doesn't offer, like Hungarian. Choose it from the Translate button
    • The new email window puts the cursor in the message when it opens
    • More of Bloop.email is translated into Hungarian

Replies, the way you write them

Replies are written at the same size you read at, so making emails bigger from the View menu makes what you type bigger too. Attach files with the paperclip, or drop them anywhere on the reply box; they come along if you open the reply in its own window.

Translate into your language with AI

Apple's Translation doesn't offer every language, Hungarian among them. The Translate button now offers to translate the whole email into the language Bloop is set to, with the AI you've chosen in Settings. OpenAI or Claude give the best results for languages Apple Intelligence doesn't speak yet.

    Improvements
    • MailThe new email window puts the cursor in the message when it opens
    • SettingsMore of Bloop.email is translated into Hungarian
  3. Smooth long threads, and a nicer compose window (1.3.1)

Long conversations now scroll as smoothly as short ones. Bloop builds only the emails on screen, keeps the ones you've just scrolled past ready to show again, and stops lighting up rows under the pointer while you scroll.

The compose window got a round of polish, much of it from your emails: drop files anywhere to attach them, see a preview of pictures you attach, and send as soon as an address is typed.

    • Long conversations scroll smoothly, even with a hundred emails or more
    • Choose the sound for new mail and for event reminders in Settings → Notifications: Bloop's own, any macOS alert sound, or none
    • Adding an OpenAI, Claude or Grok API key now switches AI to it, so Ask AI no longer keeps using the one chosen before. Switch between saved keys with Use in Settings → AI Providers
    • Drop files anywhere on a new email, including on the message, to attach them; the window shows where they'll go while you drag
    • Pictures you attach show a preview
    • Send works as soon as an address is typed, without pressing Return first, and Backspace removes the last recipient
    • Hover a recipient to see their email address; recipients now line up with the To label
    • Contact suggestions open below the To field instead of over the title bar
    • Draft saved moves to the top-right corner of the window, and Send matches the Compose button
    • The app's version shows above Settings

    Attach by dropping, anywhere

Drop files on the message itself, not just the bar at the bottom, and they're attached instead of their paths being typed in. While you drag, the window shows they'll be attached. Pictures you attach show a small preview, with their size and a button to take them off.

    Recipients that behave

Send works as soon as an address is typed out, without pressing Return first, and leaving the field turns it into a recipient. Backspace removes the last one, hovering one shows their email address, and they line up with the To label. Contact suggestions open below the field instead of over the title bar.

    Choose your notification sounds

Pick the sound for new mail and for event reminders in the Notifications settings: Bloop's own, any of macOS's alert sounds, or none. Reminders sound different from mail out of the box, so a meeting doesn't pass for an email.

    Fixes
    • PerformanceLong conversations no longer stutter while scrolling
    • AIAdding an OpenAI, Claude or Grok key now switches AI to it, so Ask AI no longer keeps using the provider chosen before
    • MailFiles dropped on the message are attached rather than typed in as their paths
    • MailContact suggestions in To, Cc and Bcc open below the field instead of over the title bar
    • MailBackspace in an empty To, Cc or Bcc field removes the last recipient
    Improvements
    • AISwitch between saved API keys with Use in the AI Providers settings
    • MailDraft saved sits in the top-right corner of the compose window, and Send matches the Compose button
    • SettingsThe app's version shows above Settings in the sidebar
  4. Claude, Codex and Cursor can use your mail (1.3)

Bloop.email now speaks MCP, the protocol AI apps use to reach other apps. Click Add next to Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Codex or Cursor in Settings → MCP, and that app can search your mail, read emails and whole conversations, and draft replies that open in Bloop for you to send.

Everything runs on your Mac: your mail goes from Bloop to the AI app you connected, never through our servers. Bloop opens by itself in the background when an app asks for it.

    • Let Claude, Claude Code, Codex and Cursor use your mail: add Bloop to them with one click in Settings → MCP, then ask them to find, read or summarise emails, or draft replies for you to send
    • Choose which accounts AI apps can see. They never see Spam, Trash or sign-in codes and links, and can't send, delete or move anything
    • AI Memory: see how the AI thinks you write, with each person you email most, and make it forget anyone
    • AI settings are clearer, in their own pages for AI, AI Providers, AI Memory and MCP, with each provider's logo
    • In Wide List and Spark, deleting or archiving an email takes you back to the list
    • New-mail and reminder alerts at the notch play your alert sound, and Dismiss and Close work while the pointer is over them
    • Fixed a crash that could happen when a mail connection closed while it was being read

You decide what AI apps see

Choose which accounts they can reach. They never see Spam or Trash, never get one-time codes or links that sign in to or reset an account, and can't send, delete or move anything. Recent activity shows every search and email they read.

    AI Memory you can see

A new AI Memory page shows how you write, overall and with each person you email most: your usual greeting, sign-off and length. Make it forget anyone, choose how many past emails it uses, or have it learn again.

AI settings in their own pages

AI, AI Providers, AI Memory and MCP each have a page of their own in Settings, with each provider's logo, so finding a key or a setting takes one click.

    Fixes
    • PerformanceFixed a crash that could happen when a mail connection closed while it was being read
    Improvements
    • Wide ListDeleting or archiving an email takes you back to the list, in Wide List and Spark
    • InboxNew-mail and reminder alerts at the notch play your alert sound, and Dismiss works while the pointer is over them
  5. Bigger text, and Hungarian (1.2.1)

Emails can now be read at the size that suits you, from 80% to 200%. Use View → Bigger (⌘+) and Smaller (⌘−) as in Mail, or set it once in Settings → Appearance. The whole email grows, its own styles included, and reflows to fit.

Bloop.email also speaks Hungarian, its twelfth language, with every screen translated.

    • Make emails easier to read: change their text size from View → Bigger (⌘+) and Smaller (⌘−), or in Settings → Appearance
    • Bloop.email now speaks Hungarian
  6. AI that writes like you, mail that's always there (1.2)

Bloop.email now learns how you write from the emails you've sent, on your Mac. Replies and rewrites match how you usually greet, sign off and write to each person, and a new Sound Like Me rewrite turns any draft into your own style.

    • Spark layout: tabs for your Inbox, Unread and each label, with unread counts; drag them to reorder, and open an email with one click
    • A redesigned compose window, and Ask AI right where the list is
    • Talk to Ask AI: dictate your question instead of typing it
    • Emails open instantly: the ones at the top of your list are ready before you click
    • Your mail is kept on your Mac, so you can read it offline
    • Search finds words inside your emails, not just in subjects and senders
    • AI replies and rewrites sound like you, learned from emails you've sent, and "Sound Like Me" rewrites a draft in your own style
    • Use any AI service that works like OpenAI's: OpenRouter, Groq, or a model on your own Mac with Ollama or LM Studio

    Instant and offline

Your mail is kept on your Mac, so it's there without a connection, and the emails at the top of your list are ready before you click them, so they open at once.

    Search inside your emails

Search now finds words anywhere in your emails, not just in subjects, senders and previews, even offline.

    Any AI you like

Besides Apple Intelligence, OpenAI, Claude and Grok, use any service that works like OpenAI's: OpenRouter, Groq, DeepSeek, Mistral, or a model on your own Mac with Ollama or LM Studio. Add its address in Settings, with one click for the common ones.

Spark tabs and a new compose window

The Spark layout gets tabs for your Inbox, Unread and each label, with unread counts, that you can drag into order. Compose is redesigned, and you can dictate a question to Ask AI instead of typing it.

  7. Bloop.email 1.1.2

    • Replies no longer repeat the whole conversation: earlier emails they quote are folded behind a "•••" button
    • Replies to replies are quoted properly, each level in its own block, for you and the people you write to
    • Your signature arrives cleaner, with clickable links and without the "--" line
    • Addresses you type or paste in To, Cc and Bcc now come with the person's name
    • Email previews show the email's text instead of its styling code
  8. Bloop.email 1.1.1

    • Updates now download in the background and install the next time you quit Bloop, so you're always on the latest version. You can turn this off in Settings
  9. A calendar from your invites, and the Spark layout (1.1)

Priya ShahCan we move Thursday's review?Reply…

Bloop.email now gathers the invites in your email into a calendar. Answer them, join the call, add them to your calendar and get a reminder at the notch before each one starts. Today's next event sits in the top bar, with Join when it's about to begin.

    • A calendar of the invites in your email, with RSVP, Join, Add to Calendar and reminders before each event
    • Today's next event in the top bar, with Join when it's about to start
    • The Spark layout, with today's events under the greeting
    • Reply in a box under the email, with suggested replies ready as soon as it opens, instead of a new window
    • Collapsible folders in the sidebar: folders with folders inside start collapsed, and Option-click opens or closes everything inside
    • A close button on the notch when new mail arrives
    • Replies to newsletters no longer quote screens of blank lines
    • No more grey flash when switching mailboxes in the Developer theme

    The Spark layout

One wide list grouped by day, Today first, with today's events under the greeting.

    Reply in place

Reply in a box under the email instead of a new window, with suggested replies ready as soon as it opens.

  11. All Inboxes, and new themes

All Inboxes brings the mail from every account into one combined view, and it's where the app now opens. Each account's own mailboxes are still a click away in the sidebar.

    Dark, White and Developer themes

Three new themes, each with an accent colour of your choice and its own colours for each section of the inbox.

Ask AI from the empty reader

With no message open, the reader offers Ask AI, with pickers for the account to search and the model to use. Grok joins OpenAI and Claude as a model you can bring your own key for.

    Fixes
    • AccountsFixed mail not loading for an account added during onboarding
    Improvements
    • InboxOpens on All Inboxes by default
  12. Write with AI and Ask AI

Bloop.email can now write with you and answer questions about your mail. Both work across every account, and both can run on your own OpenAI or Claude key.

    Write with AI

Replies open with three suggested answers. Pick one, or say what you want, and a draft streams in that sounds like you. Then make it shorter, friendlier or more formal in a click.

    Ask AI

Ask a question in plain words and get the answer from your own mail, with the emails it came from one click away.

  13. Important and Other, Waiting for Reply

ImportantOther · 23Ava MartinSam PatelBank SecurityDaily DealsProduct WeeklyTravel OffersReceipts

The inbox now splits in two. Mail from people, plus security alerts, lands in Important. Newsletters, promotions, notifications and receipts wait in Other until you want them.

    Waiting for Reply

Questions you sent that nobody answered get a Waiting for Reply label after three days, or whenever you choose. One click drafts the follow-up.

    Clean Up Subscriptions

See every sender you rarely open, unsubscribe in one click, and archive everything they ever sent, with Undo if you change your mind.

    Keyboard shortcut sets

Coming from another app? Pick the shortcuts you already know: Apple Mail, Gmail or Superhuman.

  14. Themes that follow your Mac

Choose an appearance theme and it follows your Mac's light and dark mode as it changes, with no restart.

  15. Snooze, Send Later and Undo Send

    3 daysLenaSamMarcusFollow UpAva

Snooze a message until you're ready for it, schedule a reply to go out later, and take back one you just sent. Signatures are in too, one per account.

    Wide List layout

Prefer Gmail's layout? Wide List shows your mail as full-width rows, with checkboxes, bulk actions and pages.

    Your own AI key

Use your own OpenAI or Claude key for the AI features, so requests go straight from your Mac to the provider you pick.

    And more

Emails are shown dark in dark mode, a note tells you when you're offline, and the app now speaks 11 languages.
